Restart Printer

Hi

Due to the way we are using PDF Creator we tend to get a block in the printer queue when a user attempts to save a document and another user (or themselves) has it open. Trouble is then all documents thereafter do not print. Is there a way to either check that the doc is not open before printing or to have a command a user can issue to start the printer?
